WHAT HAPPENED SO FAR?
After "Tumbled Earth" moved across the street and just before "Vicious Cycle" - the coin laundry - closed, I made a short 'before' video of The Laundromat from the commercial laundry space. Check it out on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/wNKgNdAqq5w.
The renos were paused for the Christmas Pop-up Art Market that opened on November 24, 2021. Twenty-five adventurous local artists had their artwork on display at the pop-up art market until the end of 2021. Approximately 200-250 visitors per week came through the pop-up art market to get inspired and buy their Christmas gifts. It's amazing how great artwork can transform a space!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?
Now it is time to close 'the curtains' again and finish the renovations. We plan to be able to welcome you to Art Gallery Kimberley at The Laundromat in April. The creation of our website and web shop will start at the end of January. I can't wait to introduce you to the talented artists that will have some of their artwork in the art gallery and our web shop. We will keep you posted on the progress. LAUNDROMAT OR ART GALLERY?
We are a commercial art gallery right in the heart of Kimberley BC’s revitalized, historic downtown pedestrian area "The Platzl". Since our building housed laundry facilities for approximately 50 years, we decided to keep calling it “The Laundromat” with a little nod to Andy Warhol's studio “The Factory”, hence the pop-art logo design.
Art Gallery Kimberley facilitates art; represents original artwork and artists that we’re excited about; and builds meaningful and lasting relationships with artists, art collectors, and the community.
