"One Spirit; So Many Expressions" by Anita Skubleny
In the solo exhibit space from August 18 - September 13, 2026
"One spirit; so many expressions" - This collection of monochromatic studies, whimsical interpretations, and realistic and impressionistic paintings celebrates the beauty and character of wildlife. These different styles provide unique perspectives as well as a shared purpose: to capture the spirit, emotion, and individuality of each animal. Every brushstroke invites viewers to see wildlife with their eyes and their hearts.

About the artist
"I love animals, and I love painting them! It is especially important for me to capture the eyes of the animals I paint, as these are the windows to the soul. There is love, kindness and beauty in the world and I want to show this through my art."
Anita Skubleny is an emerging artist based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, and takes pride in her Métis heritage. With seven years of full-time studio work under her belt, Anita has established herself with pastel pet portraits and wildlife art and is now transitioning exclusively into oil paintings, which can capture the softness of an animal's fur so perfectly.
Anita's artistic style is rooted in capturing the essence of her subject matter, conveying the feeling, atmosphere, and heart of her subject, with a particular focus on capturing the spirit in the eyes. In the past year, her attention has been drawn to creating wildlife portraits in oil, utilizing contemporary realism with an impressionistic twist, employing bold strokes and a palette of colors inspired by nature.
Currently working as a Navigator for Master Artists on Mastrius.com, Anita continually seeks to learn new techniques during the sessions to enhance her existing artistic practice. Driven by her commitment to personal and professional growth, she is dedicated to expanding her repertoire and pushing the boundaries of her art career.
