Through Thick & Thin

"This painting was a lot of fun as I had no expectations for an outcome. Instead, I focused on dark and light, thick paint and thin paint, textures, and smoothness. This made me think of how life and our experiences of it are so like art.  We go through the thick times when life is good and feels full and we go through times when life is thin, and it may feel like we are out of energy or just plain worn out. We can be vibrant and exuberant, or we can fall into the background and be a little insular. This painting really speaks to me, and I hope it speaks to you too!"
