“Ingress: the act or fact of entering. This poplar burl was gifted to me by Buck Kavanagh, a wonderful local wood turner. I left intact the existing opening and the figuring caused by fire and hollowed out the remaining structure to reveal the richness of the grain. The opening, from either side, is a portal or entryway to a beyond."
