Fir Root

"In my wanderings I often look for rocky ledges and benches where large conifers have found a growing niche. The root structures that result from these stark conditions are often ornately and wondrously shaped with delicate lines and whirls: a living mirror of the negative space it came to occupy. This root was gathered from the slopes of Mother's Day Hill."
