Caldera

Caldera

"A caldera is a large cauldron like hollow or depression formed after a volcano erupts and collapses.  The hollow in this  ponderosa pine slab was similarly formed by heat and flame, deeply charred through forest fire.  Removing this charred layer further deepened this naturally formed cauldron. Vintage casters and bevelled glass complete Caldera’s structure."
