Fish Wishes

This painting was featured in Michael's travelling art exhibition, "In This Together," with the underlying theme: 'Why we live in this place.' The exhibition premiered in Kimberley and traversed through Cranbrook, Rossland, Fernie, and Golden. Supported by funding from the Columbia Basin Trust, Michael's primary goal was "to visit other communities, to paint, to listen, to learn about what makes us unique and what binds us together."

Michael holds the firm belief that the destiny of the flora and fauna in the Columbia River Basin is intricately intertwined with the collective consciousness of its people. According to him, "We can't disconnect ourselves from nature, and as residents, we bear an extra weight of responsibility."
