"Reminders Of the Covered Railway Bridge, Lake Koocanusa (Kootenay/Wardner). From Wardner, Lake Koocanusa is 150kms long and flows over the Canada/US border before meeting up with the Libby Dam. When Lake Koocanusa is drained in the fall, the lake becomes a river once again. Although the famous covered Railway Bridge at Wardner has long been dismantled, you can still see the railway grade through the two rock formations. You can also see some of the bridge footings during the winter months when the lake becomes the river."
