AUTHOR EVENT - BC AND YUKON BOOK PRIZES ON TOUR

Exciting news! The official shortlist for the 2026 BC and Yukon Book Prizes has been announced.

For the second year in a row, the BC and Yukon Book Prizes on Tour is coming to Kimberley and that is so exciting! Jean Miller (Kimberley Public Library) and I are hosting executive director Megan Cole (BC and Yukon Book Prizes), BC authors Samantha (Sam) Beynon and Sam Wiebe for an Author Event at the gallery on Wednesday, May 6 from 6 to 7:30 pm.

Finalist for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize

Sam Wiebe: “The Last Exile” (The Wakeland Mystery Series).

Finalist for the Christie Harris Illustrated Children's Literature Prize

Samantha (Sam) Beynon: “Celebrating Potlatches”.

Papervale Books has a few copies of “The Last Exile” available (and more coming) and owners AJ and Cheryl are working on ordering copies of “Celebrating Potlatches”. Papervale Books will also be selling copies of the books at the author event.
